Athletics

High school sports in NYC require a particular tenacity. We travel to practice and games while managing all our coursework, but we’re here for the high energy, fierce competition, and team spirit. We play with heart and pride. Join a team or just come cheer us on. Go Bard Raptors, Go East Houston Hawks!

💰

  • Equipment

This year we had to replenish or replace equipment and supplies for tennis, soccer, and baseball.

  • Awards Ceremony

The best part of the job is when we celebrate our student athletes at their award ceremony!

  • Uniforms

The PTA funds uniforms as needed. This school year we bought new duds for the basketball and volleyball teams. Plus we always need soccer socks.

  • Playoffs

When we make it to the finals, the teams need transportation to the playoff games.

  • Facilities

We have no gym at our school, so gym space has to be rented for our indoor sport teams.

SLT member

“One of the major goals of the CEP for next year is to help support student mental health and well-being; sports and clubs are a first-tier support.”

Faculty

“Allotted funds are always spent, and the coaches often purchase things with their own money.”
