How is the Budget Spent 💰

  • Jahara Adossa Speaking Portraits

    Art Teachers

The PTA contributes to staffing needs, supporting our art department and helping to maintain our notoriously small class sizes.

  • Course Books

Seminar is the gateway writing and thinking class to kick off our Year Ones’ college curriculum. PTA funds the required reading for every student to annotate their own copies and start their personal library of great books.

  • Classroom Supplies

It’s no longer as simple as pens and pencils. This is the era of whiteboards, Chromebooks, and graphing calculators. The PTA helps to ensure that each classroom is well equipped and ready for learning.

  • Sports

Our student athletes balance their coursework with heavy training and competition schedules. We support them with money for uniforms, facilities, travel, and more. Go Raptors! Go East Houston Hawks! 🏅

  • Graduation

The privilege to show our graduates how proud and amazed we are by their accomplishments is money very well spent 🎓

  • College Transfer Office

So you’ve earned an AA from Bard College. Now what? Our College Transfer Office provides vital support throughout the application process, and the PTA assists with funding for college tours, the SATs, and other exmissions-related expenses.

  • The Library

The Library and Learning Center is core to our community, providing key academic and peer support. The PTA helps fund access to subscriptions and research tools to ensure our students graduate with the skills they need for success as upperclassmen and beyond.

  • Clubs

Student alliances, STEM, culture, arts, gaming; you name it, Bard Manhattan kids are into it.

  • Student Planners

We provide every student with a yearly planner and help fund the printing of Writing & Thinking workshop booklets.
