Q: What does my 9th grader need to bring for the first day of school?

A: The first four days of school is Writing and Thinking workshops. Classes won’t start yet. Go to the first week of school with:
• one notebook
• one folder
• a pen
• a packed lunch, if applicable, as freshmen don’t have out lunch until second semester.

Q: How about a list of supplies for regular classes?

A: We have:
• a sturdy folder for each subject (or a slim accordion file for all-in-one)
• a notebook for each subject (some teachers will take notebooks overnight for regular grading)
• graph paper notebook for math
• a narrow, flexible binder if your history class is mostly handouts
• summer reading (this is The Autobiography of Malcolm X)
